Usually you can find the size of a tyre on its side - but what are the extra numbers and letters you find next to them? What do they mean?
Here is brief explanation of what each marking represents.
Width of the tyre (millimetres)
Height of the tyre sidewall (percentage) i.e. 55% of 205mm. Also know as the aspect ratio.
Diameter of the tyre inner rim (inches).
Load rating. In this case it is 615 kg.
Speed rating. In this case it is 270 km/h.
Now that you know what these mean, how do your tyres shape up?
